Simulating Error-Opening of Pressure Relief Valves of a Station on a Continuous Undulating Oil Pipeline with Large Elevation Difference

For oil pipeline in mountain areas, high hydrostatic pressure the may cause error-opening of relief valves, and is discharged from to tanks, bringing spilling-over risk tanks. Therefore, simulating situations valves investigating discharge process are necessary for checking possibility accident then proposing measures improve system. This research focuses on a continuous undulating with large elevation difference station along this pipeline, which named B paper, studied. By OLGA software, simulation model system established, accuracy verified by reconstructing real making comparison actual data. The maximum rate reached 8284 m3/h when valve was opened mistake inlet outlet station. accumulated filling time two tanks 200 s, good agreement On basis, at station, performed investigate variations velocity, flow rate, volume ventilation vent valve. velocity found be over allowed safety consideration.
